Khiva is an open city-museum where you can walk by even weeks but every day will open city with a new side. On the first centuries a.c. the new dynasty, named Afrigids became the rulers of Khoresm. They ruled till the end of 10th century. During the 4-7th centuries the new up of Khoresm culture has been started. At those times Khoresm controlled all northern roads of Great Silk Road. In the 8th century, these lands were obeyed to Arab's caliphate and became a part of Islamic world.

Developing of Khoresm in the 9-13 centuries resolved to Khoresmshakhs power appearance, but they were defeated by Mongols in the 13th century. In the14-15th centuries Khoresm was a part of state of Temurids dynasty, but in 16th century the city was kept apart by Chingizid's khans. By 17th century, changed mainstream of Amudarya river, made Khiva the main city of oasis and capital of khanate.
