Not long ago, Mujnak was a beautiful place on the coast of Aral see. But nowadays, it is over 100 kilometers between the city and sea. Recently lake was famous for its beautiful beaches, plenty of fishes and great sizes. That is why it was called Sea.
Unfortunately, nowadays there is only endless desert instead of water around. Locals call it Aralkym similarly to Kyzylkum desert.
Recently ships were sailing on sea water, but today all these ships are just staying at city port of Mujnak. It is called Ship's necropolis. It is sad, but they will never sailing again, so they just staying abandon, covering with corrosion and becoming nothingness.
It is strange, human killed local nature, but nature continues help and support human's survival. Aral see already had been disappeared, but surprisingly, in few kilometers from Mujnak, the new lake with fresh water have been appeared. It solved problem of fresh water for local people. Moreover Lake is inhabited with large fishes.
During the trip, you can visit cattle market and check prices on camels and local donkeys. Probably, history lovers will be interesting to visit museum of Aral sea. Exposition is telling visitors about Aral's ecological tragedy. There are lot of pictures of famous artists, who drew Aral sea, samples of plants and animals, who recently inhabited nearby sea area, objects of people's lifestyle and even fishing preservatives. All them are collected in museum.
