Originally, Charwak was a town of constructors and power engineers who worked at Charvak water power station. It locates in 70 kilometers from Tashkent on the right branch of Ugam river and in front of Khodzjikent town on the left bank.
Around Charvak area there are industrial enterprises as well as administrative centers of managing structure of Urt-Chirchik water power station and regional transportation organization.
In spite of town was build quite fast, it had all necessary infrastructure. There were schools, kindergartens, markets, drug stores, cinema and hospital on town’s territory. But nowadays, Charvak became mostly town of summer cottages. There are a lot mini hotels around Charvak area, so you can always meet a lot of tourists in this beautiful place. On the place of past summer cinema, there is a luxury private residence built as royal palace.
There is an oldest Khodzjikent town nearby Charvak area. Khodzjikent means “place where saints live” from Uzbek language. In the center of town there is a spring surrounded by age-long plane trees. In the one of plane trees was located wayside national cafe “chaykhana”. From the early past times, the giant plane tree was known as plane of Iskander Two-horned. The other world knows him as Alexander the Great. In our days, there are many of hotels, cafes and restaurants, where you can try the delicious local food and vine.
The main sightseeing of this place is Charvak water reservoir. It is artificial lake built by human which surrounded by beautiful mountains with white snow tops. 3 mountain rivers are flowing into the lake: Ugam, Chatham, Pskent. On the lake shore there are a lot of passionates, hotels and other rest areas.
